The Seven Stars
Main story quest
Find a copy of The Seven Stars in the library of the Universitat, in the Hidden City of Mages.
The Desert Portal
The portal stands in the desert south of Nanten. Its markings differ from other portals, and only Pwar’s stone opens it. Step through to the Hidden City of Mages, then walk east to the Universitat.
The Universitat
Hurlbert, at the Universitat, says the library does have a copy, deep inside and under special protection. The corrupted life force has turned the library’s magic into wild energy spirits, so it has been locked. Because you work for the Resistance, he gives you a key to the lower levels.
The Library
The ladder comes down in the middle of the library. Two holes lead down to the west and east wings. The portal in the south leads to the lower level, but only once it has been opened from the other side. Spell books here teach Burn (1) and Pain (2) for free.
The West Wing
Pull the lever (L) once. Then take the hole down to the lower level. Spell books here teach Explosion (1) and Paralyze (2), and an Obsidian Dagger (3) is hidden behind a shelf.
The East Wing
Pull this wing’s lever (L) once too. Its hole also leads to the lower level. Spell books here teach Fireball (1), Blindness (2), and Great Heal (3), and a Magnificent Skullcap (4) is hidden behind a shelf.
The Book
With both levers pulled, the mechanism (M) opens the door north of it, and the book (K) lies beyond. Pressing your hand to the stone (P) in the middle opens the portal back up to the library, a shortcut. Spell books here teach Shock (1) and Strength (2), and a Buckler of Might (3) lies on a chair. The hole north of the book leads to a hidden wing of the library, part of a side quest.
Back to the Hideout
Bring the book to Okyon at the Resistance Hideout. Of the seven crystals, only two are still out of The Rein’s reach: one in the Sky Mountain Temple, deep in the Great Range, reached through the caves north of Matthias’s keep, and one in the Trocken Dungeon, the old proving ground of the Trocken monks, in the desert south of Nanten. There is time for only one, and a Resistance group will go after the other. Speak to Khan to take the temple yourself (Sky Mountain Temple), or to Daisalan to take the dungeon (Trocken Dungeon).
The party's journal
The Universitat does indeed have a copy of the book. It's contained in their library which has been overrun with uncontrolled energy beings. This will be a dangerous task.
We found the book. Now to return to the hideout.
The book describes seven crystals, of which only two remain that are not in The Rein's hands.
Just two crystals remain and we must work fast. We only have time to find one crystal, the Resistance will find the other. If we want to go to the Sky Mountain Shrine, we must talk with Khan. If we'd rather search the Troken Dungeon, we must talk to Daisalan.
