Saghure

Main story quest

The sceptre needs a piece of saghure, and the last known piece was in a storehouse of the Floating City, whose ruins drift on the Astral Plane.

Thyre

In the Hidden City of Mages, Thyre can send you to the ruins of the Floating City, but only once, and he can’t bring you back. Prepare before you speak to him the second time.

The Ruins

The ruins are a puzzle of light. Beyond the door lie Gawain’s Chainmail (1) and a Magic Bow (2); 713 gold (3), a Magic Elixir (4), and 42 gold (5) lie in the outer rooms.

The Saghure

Pick up the pickaxe (P) in the east and use it to break through the rubble (R) in the west, which hides the switch (S). Take the glowball (G) in the south-east and set it in the first bowl (A); a faint hum starts. Flip the switch, then try the door (D) in the middle, and it opens. Take the glowball back out of the first bowl and set it in the second bowl (B), beyond the door. The field around the chest (C) fades, and the saghure is inside. The portal in the south takes you back to the Hidden City, but not until you have it.

An Artificer

The saghure doesn’t fit the sceptre’s niche, and only a skilled artificer could shape it. Okyon knows of one, a dwarf named Wilthanur, a rogue mage and an adept illusionist who lives in a tower east of Tristen and does not welcome visitors. Continue with Wilthanur’s Tower.

The party's journal

Thyre can help us get to the Floating City, or what remains of it. He can only do it once, so we best be prepared first.

We're in the ruins...somewhere. It doesn't seem like the Astral Plane, but it's not the surface either. The saghure is here somewhere.

Okyon cannot get the saghure to fit in the sceptre. We need an artifacer to do it. The only one he knows of is Wilthanur, who might be rogue. It might not be easy getting Wilthanur to help us. He's also an illusionist. Okyon marked the location of his tower on our map.
