The Magic Sword

Spoilers. Each step says what you are trying to do, and the solution stays hidden until you click it. To talk to someone, stand right beside them (not diagonally) and press Enter or Space.

Where: a forest at the foot of a mountain. Reward: the Magic Sword, worth 20 attack, the strongest weapon in the game. You need: Gawain’s note, which you get for Rescuing Gawain. The sword is not for sale anywhere.

Townspeople keep saying that a magic sword exists. It is real, and it waits for you, but only after you have read Gawain’s note.

Learn where the sword is buried

Gawain’s family owned the sword. He knows where it lies.

Solution

Gawain’s family owned the sword, and the note he leaves at the Miners’ Guild in Aaryak, the same place you get the sulfur, says his ancestor was buried with the sword. The grave is at the base of a mountain peak surrounded by a small forest. Search among those trees.

Find the grave

Somewhere on the mainland is a mountain with a small forest around its foot.

Solution

The grave is in the far west of the continent. Look on the world map for a mountain peak with trees around it. You need to stand on the exact marked tile; walking next to it is not enough. Press Enter there. It takes a few hours to search, and then you find the sword point-first in the dirt of a grave. Touch the hilt and it is yours. It replaces your current weapon. If you are already holding it when you come back, the game only says there is no reason to stay in the clearing.
