Search the Schwarzloch
Main story quest
One of the Vault's keys was thrown down the Schwarzloch, a pit so deep it was never meant to be found again. Spelunkers have found caves that reach the bottom.
Choose the Schwarzloch
At the Resistance Hideout, tell Khan you will search the Schwarzloch. His people set off for the Westberg dwarves instead.
The Pit
The Schwarzloch is north-west of Trost, not far east of the hideout. A sign warns of a bottomless pit; the way down is the cave beside it, which the party only enters once you have chosen the Schwarzloch.
The First Level
The caves wind down through five levels, each with several holes, and only one route reaches the bottom. Its holes and ladders are marked A to F, in order. Here, take hole A in the east. 473 gold (1) lies in the north-west.

The Fourth Level
From hole C you can’t reach the way to the bottom. Climb ladder D in the east back up to the third level, and take hole E down. It lands you near hole F, which drops to the bottom. A pool of water (W) in the west restores the party, and 1028 gold (1) lies in the south-west.

The Bottom
The key (K) lies at the bottom of the pit, beside another pool of healing water (W). Take it back to Isharia at the hideout. Continue with The Warriors’ Guild Key.

The party's journal
We've chosen to search the Schwarzloch, a nearly bottomless pit. There should be some connecting caves northwest of Trost.
It was a long way down, but the key was at the bottom. We should hurry back to the Resistance.
