Monty's Gambling Pit
Side quest
Monty runs an illegal gambling pit and has stopped paying the Thieves' Guild its share.
Monty
The Pirate Den is on Pirate Island. Monty runs a gambling pit there, where slaves try to escape his gladiators through a labyrinth below. Ask when he last paid the Thieves’ Guild and he bolts down the chute into the pit.
The Labyrinth
Six squads of five Gladiators roam the labyrinth, and each squad you beat drops a key. The third key opens the trapdoor (D) in the ceiling in the middle. The two portals (P) at the far west and east ends of the middle row carry you from one side to the other. Along the way are a Barbed Whip (1), a Health Elixir (2), Boots of Might (3), a Mildly Embued Mace (4), and 43 gold (5).
Monty's Hideout
The trapdoor comes up in Monty’s hideout. He gives in at once and pays 600 gold (1 on the den). The ladder beside him leads back to the main floor of the den.
- You receive 600 gold.
The party's journal
Monty in the Pirate Den has been running an illegal gambling operation. The Thieves' Guild controls all gambling and it seems the recent trouble in the Guild has made Monty bold. We tried to collect back dues, but he escaped into his gladiator pit.
Monty can run, but he can't hide. We tracked him down and extorted our fee.
