The fierce orcs near Tristen are restless, and their king has a job for you.
Madigan's Side Job
Once you have joined the Resistance, Madigan passes on jobs her spies hear of. The first is from Tristen, whose people complain that the fierce orcs near the city are agitated. You can also go straight to the orcs.
The Orc King
The orcs’ cave is two squares west of Tristen. The orc king, in the middle of the cave, would rather squash you, but spiders have infested his lower tunnel and are eating his orcs. Destroy every nest and he will pay you 3000 gold (1). The tunnel down is in the south-east; its guard lets you pass now.

The Spider Tunnel
Five nests (N) are spread through the tunnel, each with six Great Spiders. Destroy all five. A Claymore (1), Partial Plate Armor (2), and Life Gloves (3) lie in the tunnel.

The orc king pays the 3000 gold.

The party's journal
Madigan found us a job on the side. She says that the citizens of Tristen have been complaining about the clan of fierce orcs southwest of the city.
We wandered into an orc cave. They seemed rather agitated about something.
The orcs have a terrible spider infestation. If we can find and destroy all the nests, the king promises a reward.
We killed the spiders and the king rewarded us with 3000 gold coins. I wonder where he got them, but perhaps it is best not to ask.
