The site update is long overdue, but here it is. The biggest change is the Archived news section. I put all the old 2005 news posts in there. Also, although it's very quiet on the website, I'm still around. I don't actually disappear, it's just that since the game is finished, there's not much to post. But feel free to hang out in the forum or send along some email. Also, the next game patch will be released soon.
Well, despite YaBB's claim to have an update soon, there has been none for eight months (heh, may sound familiar to regulars here :). The update was supposed to have spambot protection, but since the update does not exists, and spambots do exist, I've had to take more drastic measures. There is no longer guest posting and all new users will have to supply a valid email address to receive a password. This has reduced the amount of bot spams by about 99.99993%. Sadly, it also discourages casual visitors from posting their comments and questions, and board traffic has dwindled recently. I apologize for the inconveniences, but please try not to get discouraged from using the forum. New members are welcome and appreciated!
The forum is working again. I still don't know exactly what was going wrong, but the server was upgraded and the problem disappeared. At least, it has disappeared as far as I can see. I haven't gotten any errors after about 30 minutes of usage. I'll have more updates to the site soon, including a news archive to shorten this rather lengthy webpage and the latest bug patch to the game.
Since upgrading to YaBB 2.1, the forum has progressively degenerated into Internal Server Errors. These errors are intermittent, but occurring more frequently. I really don't have any idea what is causing them, but I'll do my best to get rid of them in the next several days. If I have to, I'll wipe out the forum and start again from scratch. If you get one of the errors, just keep hitting the refresh button on the browser and it will eventually work.
