After the Great Catastrophe, many cities disappeared. Those that survived were ravaged by
warlords in their conquests for land and power. Of the many great cities in Engel, only
four remain, existing as independent city states.

Wisp's remote location probably accounts for most of its prosperity during the years of
chaos. Few warmongers have bothered to march out to its walls. The city is host to the
Guild of Engineers, and is considered the center of invention on Engel.
Tristen was once known as the City of Elves. Today few elves live in the largest city on
Engel, nestled in the woods of the western continental divide. The city is a hub for commerce
along its established river and land travel routes. The Thieves' Guild has set up headquarters
in the warehouse district.
A port city renowned for its lawfulness, Ilmari is the home of the Warriors' Guild. The guild
serves as a police force for the eastern divide, but holds little influence outside of the city
limits.
Unschuld is a city shrouded in secrecy. Ever since The Rein has claimed it as their headquarters,
the city has been under marshall law. Little is known about the city, and its gates are closed to
everyone on either side of its walls.
