So I decide to pay this place a visit, my bi-annual visit as detailed in my last post 6months ago.

Anyway the forum rejects my ISP's IP, saying that the forum does not accept proxy browsing. So the only way I could get here was by ... using a proxy(www.slyuser.com to be exact).

The. Irony. Is. Painful.

I also see the forums have been upgraded, so I presume at least DA is still around.

You should read up in some of the DA2 forums. I do block proxies because most of the spambots come via that way. At least you found a workaround.

I get the feeling these bi-annual visits are a testament to how great the forum was back in the day. It's really a pity that the community slipped away after DA2 was finished.

In any event, MB here, 2501 days since I first posted, logging in to say hello to the shadows.

Hope you had a successful outcome, MH! I still remember my own written, oral and dissertation defenses. I equate the entire process to sophisticated adult hazing. I had one committee member turn on me (thankfully, not my chairperson) and that uncomfortable situation provided some interesting intellectual sparring. One smiling benefit of your advanced degree is the fact that, once conferred, it's yours for life. Be sure to recharge after your draining experience.

I'm still finalizing my thesis before submitting it to the office, so still feel a bit overwhelmed with work. But I will be taking a week long sailing trip in a few days to recharge.

Despite moving five times and changing ISPs at least a dozen times, the forum still blocks me for using a proxy unless I use a proxy to get past that. I still chuckle at the irony.

Good to hear you're all in good steed. It is a shame the forum has dissipated so, but it is inevitable; no forum, be it electronic or otherwise, lasts forever Sad

Hey all... It's time for my semi-annual check-up, I suppose. I'm a second-year English student at university... Broke, as well, of course, but yeah.

As a note of interest, I just started replayed DA1 a couple of days ago... Got frustrated after about 10 deaths cause I was being too confident about my orc killing abilities, then finally got leveled up a little...

In other news, university's over for the year. Which is kinda awesome. How're things in your lives?
